📸 The moment was captured by Yvette Holzbach, a volunteer with Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward, who shared the image and unknowingly shattered hearts around the world.

“This is a stray dog finding comfort in an abandoned toy,” she wrote.
“Please don’t condemn us… We’re doing the best we can.”

💔 Many were quick to ask why no one helped the dog immediately. But Yvette, like many dedicated rescuers, faces a devastating reality every day: too many dogs, too few resources.
