At first glance, you might think Ragnar is just a playful puppy. But this sweet German Shepherd is actually 2 years old โ and due to a rare condition, heโll keep his puppy-like size and features for life.
Ragnar was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism, a condition that affects his growth and development. It was triggered by an infection caused by the Giardia parasite when he was a tiny pup. Though he fought off the infection like a champ ๐ช, his growth never caught up.
โค๏ธ A Diagnosis That Changed Everything โ But Not His Spirit
Veterinarians later confirmed that Ragnar’s condition was linked to hypothyroidism, a thyroid issue that led to symptoms like hair loss and dry, flaky skin. Thankfully, with the right medication and lots of love, Ragnarโs health and spirit bounced back beautifully.
He may be smaller than most German Shepherds โ but he has the heart of a giant.
