Paul Riley from Peabody, Massachusetts, recently won $4 million after playing the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “100X Cash” instant ticket game. But instead of just thinking about himself, Paul showed the world the size of his heart.

Arriving with his loyal pup, Raven, Paul claimed his prize and announced he would be donating a portion of his winnings to the Animal Rescue League, showing his deep compassion for animals. Described as an animal lover, Paul’s first thought was to give back — and of course, treat his wife to a brand-new car, too!

He took the prize as a one-time payment of $2.6 million before taxes. The store where he purchased the winning ticket, Summit Variety, also received a $40,000 bonus.
